The minor in feminist, gender, and sexuality studies is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on feminist scholarship in the humanities and the social sciences. The program not only explores the histories and situations of women in different cultural and social contexts but also examines how the institutionalization and representation of sexual difference structures social relations, cultural values, and educational parameters. Students interested in pursuing feminist scholarship in conjunction with their discipline-based research choose a faculty member in the Field of Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies to serve on their Special Committee and to participate in designing an appropriate interdisciplinary program of study.
