The Cornell Center for Comparative and Population Genomics (3CPG) is an interdisciplinary center established to foster research, education, and outreach in comparative and population genomics at Cornell University. The center currently has 30 affiliated faculty members from more than a dozen departments at Cornell. These faculty have interests spanning the basic and applied sciences, and applications in agriculture, medicine, and environmental science, but they share a commitment to a comparative and evolutionary genomic approach to the study of living systems.

    The Cornell Center for Comparative and Population Genomics (3CPG) is an interdisciplinary center established to foster research, education, and outreach in comparative and population genomics at Cornell University.  Our mission is to:

    1. Promote collaboration, intellectual exchange, and a sense of community among affiliated researchers from various departments and colleges Help bring major new projects and grants in comparative and population genomics to Cornell
    2. Help recruit world-class faculty members, graduate students, and postdoctoral associates
    3. Support educational activities at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels
    4. Improve access by researchers to shared resources and enabling technologies

     

    Cornell has a long tradition of grassroots support for collaborative, interdisciplinary research in evolutionary biology, genetics, and mathematical biology. 3CPG was founded in 2008 to promote, support, and grow the comparative and population genomics community at Cornell, while allowing it to remain diverse and distributed across campus.  The Center currently has 25 affiliated faculty members from more than a dozen departments at Cornell. These researchers have interests spanning the basic and applied sciences, and applications in agriculture, medicine, and environmental science, but they share a commitment to a comparative and evolutionary genomic approach to the study of living systems.
