Elly was previously a special projects lead at Albert R. Mann Library, Cornell University.  She served as the Cornell implementation coordinator and outreach liaison for VIVO: Enabling National Networking of Scientists (http://vivoweb.org).  She has twenty years experience as a women's health care provider and ten years experience developing web applications for the National Science Digital Library.  During her PhD dissertation, she developed and evaluated an online learning environment for nurse midwives with a focus on building community while incorporating a user-centered design process.  She has a strong usability focus and is interested in GIS and public health data visualizations.
