Elizabeth Anker holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Chicago. Her research focuses primarily on postcolonial literature and theory, law and literature, and questions of social justice, and she has recently published in Modern Fiction Studies,
the James Joyce Quarterly,
and Theory & Event.
She is currently completing a book, The Human Rights Paradox: The Postcolonial Novel and the Claims of Theory,
that intervenes within contemporary debates about the many ways that narrative literature informs the international culture of human rights.
