Charles Wolfram is a distinguished scholar in the field of legal ethics and professional responsibility. After his graduation from the University of Texas School of Law, Professor Wolfram spent two years in private practice in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling. He began teaching at the University of Minnesota Law School in 1965, and remained there for sixteen years. He joined the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1982, and served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1986-1990, and as Interim Dean from 1998-1999. An instrumental figure in legal ethics, Professor Wolfram served as Chief Reporter for the ALI Restatement of the Law Governing Lawyers from 1986 until 2000, and authored Modern Legal Ethics, a leading text on the subject.
