This is an important area affecting everyone in every country. Macroeconomic policies are routinely ignored by microeconomists studying particular phenomena, causing them to mistakenly attribute outcomes to lower-level causes.
response
Studies of the impact of oil production are particularly important in 2005-2006. In addition, I have given numerous speeches and interviews to audiences at Cornell, the U.S. Government, and in the press.
impact assessment
I`m the U.S. State Department`s on-call academic expert on Portuguese Africa. I am regularly called on to brief U.S. Ambassadors, State Department personnel, and have been asked to make presentations at the CIA regarding my research. I am also widely quoted in the press and by high ranking politicians in Africa, most recently by the Finance Minister of Angola in a public speech. I have been interviewed and quoted by the Associated Press, the L.A. Times, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune among others. Total readership of publications carrying these articles numbers in the millions.
