Positions
- Professor, Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (AEM), College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS)
Tim Mount`s research and teaching interests include econometric modeling and policy analysis relating to the use of fuels and electricity, and to their environmental consequences (acid rain, smog, and climate change). Professor Mount is currently conducting research on the restructuring of markets for electricity and the implications for (1) price behavior in auctions for electricity, (2) the rates charged to customers, (3) investment decisions for maintaining system reliability, and (4) renewable and distributed sources of energy.

research overview
- Research interests include econometric modeling and policy analysis relating to the use of fuels and electricity, and to their environmental consequences (acid rain, smog, and climate change). Currently research is on the restructuring of markets for electricity and the implications for (1) price behavior in auctions for electricity, (2) the rates charged to customers, (3) investment decisions for maintaining system reliability, (4) sustainable energy systems to reduce emissions of CO2 in the transition to a low-carbon economy, 5) integrating renewable sources of energy into power grids, and 6) the role of deferrable demand and storage on reducing system costs on a power grid.
