Gail Steinhart is Scholarly Communication Librarian in Digital Scholarlship & Preservation Services, Cornell University Library. She provides leadership for scholarly communications initiatives, manages Cornell's digital repository (eCommons ), supports the library's copyright services , and is a member of the arXiv team. She has also held the positions of Head of Research Services, Research Data and Environmental Sciences Librarian and GIS librarian at Mann Library. She holds M.S. degrees in Library and Information Science (Syracuse University) and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (Cornell University), and worked for nearly 15 years in environmental research before becoming a librarian.
