outreach overview
- Integrated pest management in tree fruit and berries.
- My areas of focus include integrated pest management strategies for all pests, insects, diseases, wildlife, and weeds in tree fruit and berry crops. Over the past 15 years, I have concentrated efforts in managing fire blight in apples and pears to prevent economic losses to growers and optimize the use of streptomycin fro control while reducing the risk of strep resistance in the bacterial populaiotn. In the past 5 years, I have also been focusing on special problems growers have been having with internal lep larvae (codling moth and oriental fruit moth) infesting apples, pears, and peaches at harvest.
