Ed Staehr is the Communications Director for NY FarmNet/NY FarmLink in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. His organizations help farm families who are experiencing personal or financial stress, as well as farms that wish to link one generation to the next through farm transfers, partnerships, retirement/estate planning, and business planning. NY FarmNet recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary and Staehr was responsible for directing a documentary on NY FarmNet titled Moving Families Forward, which aired on PBS and reached over 500,000 viewers. A key interest for Staehr is educating the public about agriculture, and he also directed a documentary on NY FarmLink and the importance of farm transfers in maintaining a viable agricultural industry.
