My goals are to give students the opportunity to experience how science is done through the practice of experimental inquiry. In my lab course, students are immersed in a dynamic project-based research environment to learn research methods. They participate in experimental projects directly linked with ongoing faculty research covering a broad range of methodologies in molecular and cellular biology, bioinformatics and genomics. In a highly collaborative atmosphere, students form interactive research teams that engage in rigorous scientific problem solving through the sharing of ideas and progress reports.
