The research focus is to determine the association between markers of excessive negative energy (β-hydroxybutyrate and Non-esterfied fatty acids) balance in the transition period and transition cow health, reproductive and milk production outcomes both at the individual cow and herd level.
Currently I have been involved with two courses: Herd Health and Spanish for Dairy producers. My focus for both of these courses is to provide students with useable information to help build a foundation of knowledge, but perhaps more importantly, I strive to give them the tools that they need in order to continue to build on this knowledge. This is specifically important in the Spanish course where most of the language development will be done outside the classroom.
